HOW COMPLETELY WONDERFUL!! I love things with itty bitty pieces! Nice work!
That is a very cute quilt. However I am not sure I really understand the chain-piecing/cutting apart segments part of the instructions. Maybe because I am not a very experienced quilter?
This is really lovely!
lovely quilt but I'm with junglewife as I'm not sure I really understand the chain piecing/cutting part of the directions. Would you mind clarifying it a bit? Thanks!
love it!
Looks good! I made this quilt at least 20 years ago - still one of my favorites!
Love this one, just beautiful!
I love this! Adding to my "to do" list! :)
Thanks for the re-wording. That's a bit clearer. I guess I just wasn't sure if I was supposed to chain-piece the charm pack strips together first, and then to the background fabric, and then cut them apart? Your re-wording makes more sense. Thanks!
This is a wonderful pattern! Love it. What is the finished size? Thanks!
Very cute quilt.
Just beautiful! My mom has an antique doll bed that needs a new quilt. This will be perfect!
How sweet..this would be a great leaders and enders project...
( Google Bonnie Hunter ) and you all need to learn chain piecing....it will change your piecing forever!
What an adorable quilt this will be for my granddaughter.
thanks!
Happy Sewing
I love it! Thanks for showing us this...I actually have those charm squares...yeah!!!
Oh, I absolutely love this!
I made this one!!!! of course that was 10 years ago--but it did. see the picture here http://whosies.blogspot.com/2009/07/first-and-last-quilt-parade.html
i cut each square individually with scissors. crazy! not one block turned out 'square and right' but i still love it. :)
I love this little quilt. It works in ANY style or colorway, too. Well done, Sheryl!!

The PDF version of this pattern does not contain the updated charm-piece/background strip instructions. This makes much more sense!
In the process of making this and u need 13 light dark light pieces to get 49 subcuts and only 18 dark light dark to get 70 subcuts (4 subcuts out of each piece). Loving how it is coming together! Thank you for sharing with us all!
I've made one too, if you'd like to see it look at: http://www.jeanneke.com/#post103

Thanks for this, I am working on it at the moment, I am a beginner so had some trouble with keeping all pieces square, but it's great experience. You can read about my troubles with it here http://qspace.id.au/blog/?p=345
I am busy with hand quilting the larger background areas at the moment.
I made one this weekend and was somewhat disappointed to have cut my charms into strips when I only used half the strips and could have kept the other ones whole. This means that this quilt could also be made with candy bars since you only need about 80 1 1/4 x 5" strips. I will probably do a miniature Irish chain with the rest but it would have been helpful to know from the beginning that the second pile of strips is not going to be used and therefore does not need to be cut.
Love the quilt though - thanks!
