Congratulations to the March Moda Bake Shop Contest Winner, Dawn O’Hara!!! You all loved her version of Darci Schipnewski’s Pinwheel Twist Quilt!
Dawn lives in Vancouver, Washington. She is a quilter, sewer, and gardner of both flowers and vegetables. Dawn knits, crochets, and loves any type of craft. She enjoys spending time with her husband fishing for salmon and steelhead on the Columbia River. She is grandma to two wonderful boys and two sweet girls. Not to mention she has a full time job!
Dawn’s mother taught her to sew when she was ten years old. Most of Dawn’s time behind the sewing machine has been spent sewing children’s clothes. She has fond memories of making prom dresses for her daughters and her daughter’s wedding dress. Dawn began quilting in her thirties but has really quilted more over the last three years. She adores free motion quilting and has become hooked on swaps and bees! Dawn also loves to sew purses, bags, and pillows.
We asked Dawn to tell us about her favorite Moda designer and fabric line. She said it all depends on what project she is planning and who it’s for. Right now she is in love with Sherbet Pips by Aneela Hooey. Dawn has a charm pack and needs to add a few more prints to complete her stash!
Dawn’s favorite type of pre-cuts are charm squares and layer cakes. Oh, and fat quarter bundles too (it’s so hard to choose!).
Be sure to check out Dawn’s Flickr page full of her latest projects! Talk about inspiration.
Congratulations, Dawn!! An assortment of pre-cut goodies is heading your way 🙂
