Awesome. Are the angled seams large enough to hold up? It seems that if you sew only 1/4" away from the first angled seam and then cut that you would be left with an 1/8" seam.
I love MSQC video tutorials. They are understandable, and you can follow along as you watch them.

Cute quilts!! I would think you would need more than just the jelly roll tho. I would like to know how much extra yardage you need to finish the quilts.
How much for borders and backing.
What size do the quilts finish at?

THERE'S NO PRINTABLE VERSION??? Missouri Star shows a good video, but I can't follow and do at the same time. There are no measurements for anything. How much yardage do you need for the total project. I may not do this one because of no written instructions, yardages for the completion of the project.
I agree with others - lovely quilt, but I need more detail. Clearly this quilt requires more than a jelly roll. It would be helpful to know the finaly measurement of the finished quilt plus additional yardage needed, cutting measurements and PRINTABLE instructions, please. :-)
can I get written instr on line? It's hard to sew and watch the video at same time. Thanks.
I prefer written over video because I'm deaf. I missed out on this one. :'(

Nice idea. Unfortunately, the printable instructions say to make a strip set of light, medium and dark when it should be light, dark and medium.

Video tutorials are always so helpful but this post would also be great with a photo of each of the finished quilts.
I love the video and this is a darling pattern! I, too, was concerned about the 1/8" seam allowances that result from sewing and cutting the corners off. I guess you could sew 1/2" away from the first seam and then trim? The pinwheeels would be smaller, but still cute!

Sorry, I need written instructions - the video tutorials are over my head!!! Please put them in a separate section.
Barbara, the directions do say to use a light, medium, and dark strip, but it doesn't say you have to put them in that order. Jenny even says in the video that you can put them in whatever order you want. You just have to be consistent. You don't even really have to have one of each type. I just made one with gray, white, blue. The blue and gray were the same shades, but it still works.

This quilt would look amazing with Christmas colors, or those new Riley Blake fabrics for a more summery look.
The Serendipity Quilt is 39.5 X 46 inches and the second one is 47X38 inches. The Serendipity Quilt could be made a lot larger, but we just wanted to put it together to show the pattern. We have a lot of fabric leftover, so you could make it a lot bigger! The great thing about the technique is you can use this for a quilt, table topper or a pillow. (or all three!!) Good luck and have a blast quilting!
I wish you would also post a photo of the original quilt with the star pattern. You only get to see it in the video.
How fun! Love the technique tips. Shortens sewing time (and frustration) greatly. Thanks so much. I can see the secondary (pinwheel) quilt made with thin borders between blocks. Definitely want to try it.
Love having both written and video. Like to have the written at my sewing desk, but to see the video before hand. And I love your fabric choice for this quilt. One of my favorite lines.
