Classic Christmas Quilt

Hi Moda Bake Shoppers!!!  It’s me, Melissa Corry from Happy Quilting and I am thrilled to be bringing you a Christmas in July tutorial today 😉   I absolutely love everything Joanna at Fig Tree & Co designs and when I saw she was doing a Christmas line, I knew I had to make something classic with it!!!  And what is more Classic Christmas than patchwork stars in Red and Green.   I just love it and hope you do to!!!

Festive Quilt

Hi, Everyone!  Jessica Dayon (@jessicadayon), here.  I’m so happy to be back in the Bake Shop and sharing my newest pattern with you.  This year I’m determined to get started on my holiday quilting really early!  Last year I was still finishing quilts a few days before Christmas and I’m trying not to repeat that 😉  I have been anxiously awaiting for Vintage Holiday, like so many of you, and I’m so happy it is in shops now!  Even though it’s only May, let the Christmas sewing begin!

Christmas 1968 Quilt

After I finished one of my last years Moda Bake Shop projects ”On Point Baby quilt”, the wheels started turning with more possibilities with this basic technique.  I love on point quilts, but really don’t like making quilts with assembly on the diagonal, setting triangles, etc.  My favorite part of quilt making is the top assembly, so I like to make it as simple (fun) as possible.  So, this quilt is also made with two large pieced ‘blocks’, cut on the diagonal, then reassembled into the final quilt top with on point blocks.  You can choose to fussy cut the center blocks or not, it is really up to you!  When I saw Swell Christmas popping up on blogs and social media here and there, it just brought me back to childhood Christmas memories and my grandparents.  I knew I had to make a quilt with this fabric!

Charm-ing Army Star Medallion

America’s history is shown throughout the history of quilts.  This medallion was made with a charm pack & pays tribute to those who helped shape America with their service.  Hello, I am Vicki McCarty of Calico Patch Designs.  This quilt also has special meaning to me because it was quilted by my husband, Tom, who is retired from the Army National Guard.
