Hello! It’s Lisa Jo of Neverlandstiches and I am very excited to be a part of this year’s Countdown to Christmas! The blocks are being made with a variety of red prints, solid red, solid white and low volume whites. Below you will find the ingredients for both a 12” block and a 6” block. Continue to check back each day between now and Christmas for a brand new block by another of the talented Bakeshop Chefs!
Today’s block is called A Special Gift. To me, it resembles a beautifully wrapped special Christmas gift you may find under a Christmas tree. Continue reading
Welcome to Day 6 of the Moda Bake Shop Countdown to Christmas! My name is Jen Daly and I’m so happy to be here today to share my “Reindeer Games” block—so named by my daughter because of the checkerboard center. Reindeer Games is a variation on my favorite quilt block, the Sawtooth Star, and I just love how using two different red fabrics gives this block a layered, three-dimensional look.
I am a proud Grandmother of five beautiful grandchildren from 14 to 2 years old. I added this block to many of their quilts. I hope that someday they will know the significance of why I placed this block in their quilts. Each of my children have a Christmas quilt with this block to snuggle under to read their favorite Christmas Eve storybook.
Hello! It’s Amanda of Pieced Just Sew and I am excited to be kicking off this year’s Countdown to Christmas! This year’s blocks will be made with a variety of red prints, solid red, and solid white and each block can be made as both a 12” block and a 6” block. Be sure to check back each day between now and Christmas for a brand new block!
Today’s block may look familiar. It is the block from my recent Country Summer quilt tutorial. However, in the spirit of this time of year, I have renamed it Country Winter! So dig into your stash, pick a couple of your favorite red prints, and let’s get started!
The most wonderful time of the year has arrived! Yes, it is time for our annual Countdown to Christmas! This year our Chefs have worked up an array of blocks in 6″ and 12″ – all made in seasonal red and white fabrics. Over here at the Moda Bake Shop, we will be using fat quarters to make our blocks but use whichever precut works the best for you.
We will have a new block each day until Christmas, plus some bonus blocks and quilt settings to keep you sewing right through the new year. Join us! Be sure to stop by our Moda Bake Shop Facebook group to see what others are sewing.
Hi fellow bakers! This is Mona from Kentucky Whittaker Creations. I’m excited to share a fun project with you today.
I started sewing about two years ago. As my experience grew, I wanted to try new things. I came across reverse applique and decided to give it a try. I made a Kentucky pillow using this technique. I loved the raw edges and since then have made several other pillows using this method.
Today, we’re going to make a Christmas pillow using the reverse-applique, raw-edge technique.
Today we have a special seasonal project from Chef Mary Andra Holmes! This Halloween mini quilt is perfect for your favorite seasonal fabrics – fat quarters and layer cakes work wonderfully! This adorable Halloween quilt would be extra special in Moda wool!
Hi there! Halloween Candy Stars is a sweet little quilt made with one mini charm pack and a bit of yardage.
This little quilt finishes at 18″ square – perfect for a mini quilt or make it into a pillow!
Hey there! I’m Jen Daly and I’m thrilled to be back at the Moda Bake Shop today with a new Moda Candy project for fall. Turning Leaves features a variation of a Tree of Life block set on point and surrounded by a pieced border. And at 18½” square, it’s a great size to finish either as a mini quilt or as a fun pillow like mine. I made my project with Jo Morton’s “Spice It Up” collection—her beautiful and colorful prints are just perfect for fall!
Now let’s get started!
